Drafting Applications Applications for grant-in-aid / financial assistance shall be made in the prescribed form or by furnishing amongst others the following information/details General Profile for the NGO Name, address, legal status, and thrust areas. Name and address of Chief/other functionaries of their organization.
Main activities and sources of funding generally for the last three years.
Bank details are also required in some cases. Evaluation of the achievements if any carried out by an independent agency along with the report thereof Project Profile. Title of the project Aims and objectives along with an estimation of targeted beneficiaries expected qualitative improvement etc. Strategy/action plan details of training required the availability of volunteers and their skills etc. Financial requirement sources of funding and financial assistance required from Govt under the respective program. Delegates without the prior approval of the Government of India.
The NGO fulfilling the above-mentioned conditions can submit the application for financial assistance in the enclosed format supported with necessary documents.
The component of financial assistance under this scheme will depend upon the type of project proposal as well as the availability of funds in the scheme.
The proposal may be considered either for partial or complete funding support.
The Department of Environment, Govt. of Delhi shall provide assistance to such Non-Government Organization (NGOs) including Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs), Voluntary Organizations, Self – Help Groups which are engaged in environmental awareness, waste management, promotion of Eco-friendly material and other related environmental activities.
Such institutions applying for assistance should fulfill the following conditions :
(i) Assistance will be given to such NGOs/RWAs/other institutional bodies which are rendering useful services in the field of environment.
(ii) They should be registered under Societies Registration Act,1860 ( Act XXI of 1860) or a public trust registered or having trust registration under any law for the time being in force. The registration should be valid for a minimum period of at least three years at the time of application.
(iii)They should have been demonstrably engaged in the field of environment-related activities for a minimum period of 3 years with Government Organizations/ NGOs/RWAs continuously prior to the request for assistance under this scheme.
(iv)They should demonstrate evidence of facilities, resources, personnel and experience in the scheme for which assistance is required.
(v)The Organization should provide an audited statement of accounts for at least preceding three years.
The Government alone cannot provide all the social services.
The NGO sector has always been a privileged partner of government in the social field as it can operate and mobilize resources rapidly and contribute to the development process. The policy of Government for the vulnerable groups revolves around the concept of social integration rather than that of exclusion. The NGO Trust Fund, which was set up under the Finance and Audit (Amendment of Schedule) Registrations 1999, operates under the aegis of Ministry of Social Security, National Solidarity and Senior Citizen Welfare & Reform Institutions and contributes to the development in Mauritius through institutional support and assistance.
