The Ministry of culture invites applications for financial assistance professional development of museums under the scheme for Strengthening of Regional & Local Museums for the year 2007 Museums managed by voluntary Organizations Institutions So Trusts Local Bodies Universities/colleges etc. registered under Societies Act, 1860 or society registration under any law for the time force as well as those managed by the State Governments are for assistance.
The salient features of the Schemes are The Museums should have been in existence for 3 years. The Grant would be a maximum of and up to 80% of the expenses for all purposes and the remaining 20% or more to be met respective museum. More information can be collected through ngo consultancy.
In the case of Museums in NE region including Sikkim and up to 90% of the estimate for all purposes and the society registration 10% or more to be met by the respective museum.
Grant in aid would be provided for Renovation/repairs/extends modernization of existing galleries publications Constellation Museum Library Equipment Documentation Development Infrastructure of the State Government Museums in the States including Sikkim and Storage /Modernization of the Collection renowned museums with exquisite collections In respect of the museums other than State Museums the for financial assistance under the scheme should be sponsored the Deputy Commissioner/Collector of the district to the respective State Government be finally recommended to the Ministry.

Application in prescribed forms is to be submitted the recommendation of the State Government to this Ministry will not entertain any incomplete application received without the State Government’s recommendation requisite enclosures.
